Playworks Wisconsin is a nonprofit organization that provides a structured and healthy play environment for low-income schools.
Founded in 1996, and brought to Wisconsin in 2012, Playworks allows a fun, energetic and safe environment to include all students in recess. With trained Playworks coaches, students become leaders through fair play and compassion. Students also learn problem solving skills, and adapt to peaceful conflict resolution ideas. This year Playworks Wisconsin is serving 8,900 students in 20 low-income schools with the full-time program in the Milwaukee area.
